These developers have no legitimate reason to release that code for the Dreamcast. Other than people stuck with a dead game console using it for a home network, nobody else besides a hacker with malicious intent would use such software. In a corporate network, we'd all just go out and get the RIGHT equipment instead of a dead game console from ebay.com to do our VPN encryption.

...and like the article says, the box is small. If placed in a good ceiling location, nobody will find it for a long time... perhaps never.

I do agree that there will be a trail of physical evidence left on the Dreamcast, but hey... we're thinking about physical evidence now, so I bet anyone willing to attack using a dreamcast will be much more careful to let the previous dreamcast owner's hair/carpet fibers remain the only samples found during a forensic test.

...and though i can't think of a spot where this device could be setup on the corporate network i'm using, that doesn't mean there aren't good spots on other networks...
