The issue being pointed out here, -- increasing complexity & connectivity VS. security risk -- would be an important task IT experts have to dealt with more & more often. Eventually security risk will have the potential to endanger billions of people's lives, as technology has become so intertwined with daily activities.

This year, in USA alone, there would be more than 22 million households 'bank' online (Online Banking Report), not to mention other fields all around the globe. The "toaster oven" example mentioned in this article may someday become a reality. (C) 2002
