IIRC, Lamo doesn't have a real house, so I'm not sure if your idea would work. In any case, you have to realize that Lamo has not actually broken any laws - if your intranet is so vulnerable that it can actually be accessed by a web browser via the Internet, you can't possibly hold everyone that stumbles into it responsible - however unlikely the stumbling atually is.

In addition, it should be noted that Lamo didn't damage any files nor did he reveal any secrets that could damage NBC's business (apart from the fact that their Intranet security sucks...) Usually - as stated in the article - Lamo offers to help the organization he hacks into secure their systems free of charge; unfortunately, I think NBC wasted an opportunity to save a few bucks by antagonizing him.
