Guess settles with FTC over cybersecurity snafu
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2003-06-19

A little hacking went a long way this week when the Federal Trade Commission announced that Guess Inc. has agreed to overhaul its information security practices, to settle a rare FTC action kindled by young Southern California programmer who discovered a security hole on the fashion retailer's e-commerce site last year.

Very good article. What about those Government agencies filled with "Ignorant bureaucrats defending their arrogant lack of understanding of the technology". This is good news from one of those bureaucratic agencies but let's have a look into our own problems. I mean if the Government can make excuses they why not e-commerce.

I'm just waiting for the law suite that makes Jacks a potential terrorist and detains him till he's drained of his small life savings.
