Insecurity Plagues Emergency Alert System

The FCC-mandated network that lets officials interrupt radio and television broadcasts in an emergency is wide open to electronic tampering, and the government has no plans to fix it.

Im only a young guy but remember my grandparents and parents laughing a great deal about this matter. Here it is.

Back in the day when space exploration was in its todler stages a radio broadcast was sent around saying how we were being invaded by mars. I cant remember the name of it, but it was just a skit played on the radio.

Sure some people went into a panic, but was it that bad? No..

What interests me more is a DOS attack of sorts. If a real msg was being played and someone got on then, what would happen? People not being warned of incoming tornado or some sort would be very bad. Hysteria simply isnt. Heck remember what happend last year to this day, people were very scared with me included. But life went on.
