Is the cure worse than the problem? 2000-07-20

It's interesting, and a little scary. To cure this, "Microsoft says Outlook users can eliminate the vulnerability by upgrading to Internet Explorer 5.01Service Pack 1, or, Explorer 5.5."

In otherwords, they are forcing you to install one of their products, even if you don't use it! I am a Netscape and Opera fan, using both.

I installed IE 5.5, and lo and behold, my default browser is now IE5.5! I wasn't even given the option of deciding for myself which browser I wanted to be my default. Good fortune does smile upon me once in a while, as I was easily able to change back to Netscape as the default. Some folks may not be so lucky.

I have to wonder if MicroBorg doesn't have some code in there that tracks all my movements on the internet. Big Brother is alive and well in MicroBorg98!
