Did somebody say, "It's not because they're not hit, it's because they're better designed..?" Whatever... it's those that are the hardest hit that have to be better designed... and Outlook has been hit a trillion times because everyone uses Outlook. Simple. Outlook would not have survived if it had been unable to adapt to the hits. It is because it has been tested by fire that it is as secure as it is, albeit having security flaws, which is to be expected. A program that has not been tested repeatedly by fire from the most ferocious and skilled hackers cannot compete on a security level with one that has. I dare anyone to defend the stance that these other email clients could not be cracked inside and upside down, throughout and within by the ten best hackers in the world working for only five months straight.

I am not the most ardent supporter of Microsoft. But all this mindless blasting away at them becomes tiresome. Even if I were to hate them, I would give them the respect that they deserve as the largest software company in the world.
