It seems to me that the crux of the problem is that you don't wholly understand the issue. While it is great to say "as-a-purist" that Microsoft products in general suck, because the *nix world is SOoooo great, how many of these products have security flaws right out of the box? If you think that NT can't be hardened, and perform adequately, explain why the US Navy, US Army, Pentagon, Marine Corps, and other sensative areas of the US Government are using this product in lieu of the much more difficult *nix systems? Unix and specifically HPUX used to be a staple in the US Military as an operating system, but has been supplanted for the much less expensive NT. At the cost of security? No. While there are idiots who profess to be security experts around every corner in the NT world that could'nt understand a tcp stack dump, it doesn't mean that the whole cart is rotten... Please.

Your rant is ripe with inconsistancies, and holds little merit in today's business world. Having successfulling implemented various operating systems in many different environments for the past 18 years, it is amazing to me that comments such as yours would exude from someone who acts under the pretense of intelligent.
