- Patch your OS and apps.
- Check firewall rulesets.
- Harden the OS on your servers.
- Implement intrusion detection systems.
- Review your data architecture, and look for vulnerable information (credit card numbers, customer information, etc.)
- Conduct vulnerability scans.
- Keep up to date.
- Change your passwords often.
- Make sure your backups are happening (and that you are able to restore)
- Conduct regular audits and vuln scans.
- Review and re-review your architecture, hardening, patch levels, user access levels, and firewall rules.
It's an on-going process.
