Study: Wi-Fi users still don't encrypt
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2003-07-03

Think you've heard more than enough about war driving and Wi-Fi insecurity? Two days of electronic eavesdropping at the 802.11 Planet Expo in Boston last week sniffed out more evidence that most Wi-Fi users still aren't getting the message -- or are comfortable broadcasting their e-mail into the ether.

is it really all that surprizing the attacks and unencrypted access points what is suprizing is that so little session hijacking(man in the middle) attempts were successful the reason most people dont encrypt there network(not that it would be much of a challenge to a real hacker because WEP was badly implemented) is because they havent ever got it contact with a real hacker and because of convience i mean really who wants to worry about security when peering through the other hand is convience it is the same reason why millions of people on the internet use netbios to share there entire c: drive convience and let me tell every1 who has never been attacked it is a horrible thing to have a $1300 where the only thing usable on it is 64 mb of ram so remember what comes first security or convience
