DirecTV dragnet snares innocent techies
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2003-07-17

In recent months the satellite TV giant has filed nearly 9,000 federal lawsuits against people who've purchased signal piracy devices. But some of those devices have legitimate uses, and innocent computer geeks are getting caught in the crackdown.

From what I see if these companies are so desperate now what going to happen when recession hits hard and Depression becomes a reality. DirecTV has the audacity to email me after the previous encounter with them and asking to come back. What to get ripped-off again. I don't thinks so. DirecTv comes from a company that had plenty of problems with Uncle Sam and now seems to be in bed with Uncle Sam. Not a good senario. When Hughes Aircraft broke down and lost its Fullerton Branch they split up into various groups. DirecTv was only a small fry in the pond. But yields plenty of power under Howard Hughes' Empire. The man had to yield to the pressure since they have enough influence to pick on individuals. Be right or wrong he had to protect his family or just move to another country. What would you do with corporate bullies like these that now have the backing of other innocent employees that have to follow the course or become unemployed. One of the reminders is that they will not rule forever! Stupidity breaks down after light comes to the subject.
