Lamo surrenders, is released
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2003-09-09

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--A federal judge ordered Adrian Lamo released to his parents' custody Tuesday afternoon, but barred the hacker from using computers, and ordered him to obtain full-time employment pending trial.

Adrian, there are people that support you for what you did do. But unfortunately they did not see the good in what you tried to do. Good Luck.

For all the people that have NO clue what Adrian has done and therefor, should shut their yaps, read this, and then speak-

Adrian has been looking for Security gaps in major corperations such as MCI/Worldcom, Yahoo, Microsoft, ect.. and has found numerous security gaps within these couperations. From there he did not try to abuse the power he had.. Instead, he reported what he found, how to fix it, and what to be careful of in the future to the companies before another Malicious Hacker broke in and abused that power.

Several of the companies were greatful for finding the gaps and how to fix them. But the New York Times was not so happy about what he did. From there, they didn't take his advice, nor did they fix the problem, but they had the FBI chase after him as their way of thanking him for helping.

But on September 10th, 2003 he turned himself in for these "Trobblesome" attacks he made on the companies. But in the end, He probably saved these complanies MANY headaches and well over $500,000 in Technical losses that a Malicious Hacker would have attempted to destroy and take.(Such as YOUR Social Security and ID)

Keep this in mind from now on... Not all hackers are bad. Just the ones that steal the information. Who knows? Perhaps Adrian could have saved your Identification?
