Further, the authors state that they speak only for themselves, not their employers.
Don't look for evidence of overt manipulation, or think that the absence thereof is significant; coercion without evidence is trivial. Besides, no overt manipulation is necessary to make a skittish board distance itself from someone who has made a major customer publicly angry.
