Feds seek input on spammer sentencing
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2004-01-16

A formula that would sentence deceptive spammers to more time in prison for each e-mail address spammed is among the proposals under consideration by the presidentially-appointed commission responsible for setting federal sentencing rules, which this week sought the public's input on how to punish violators of the newly-enacted CAN-SPAM Act.

The cost of spam cannot be valued. You send some one spam how do you know that 20 other people have not done the same. Leading to the person deleting a critical email message because of a spamfilter mistake costing them a fortune. There is even a chance that the person would never find out.

Now spam is far more costly it cost processor time to move it from server to server leading to slower internet times lots get marked to travel quickly as the network allows.

There is no price that can be put on it. Execpt one the bigest offenders are people trying to make money. Basicly Spammers are the drug trafficers of the internet world and should be treated almost the same. Ie the drug trafficers find a drug users and will not leave them alown to get better. Spammers use the same methord find a good opener so that they get payed. More emails the person opens and the spammer get payed the more junk mail they send. Now there is only one way to stop this complete asset striping of all found spamming. Now this makes it verry costly. And if I had my way 5 year cracking rocks so that there methords would be out of date. Yes I do mean cracking rocks with a hammer. Then to top it off into the armey for the rest of there days.

Yes I am a big nasty. But it is like this the internet is the west wild and nasty as it comes. Basicly all ready proven that if people on line track down a spammer the will snail mail spam stuffing that system up too.

Basicly it has to be nasty it has to make every think they could not do worse to them if they tried without killing them. Live and suffer is the internet methord. It the wild west it was die so it is a improvement. There is still a lot who would not mind seeing them hanged but it goes against my system. Killing people is only a waste of a good asset in most cases.
