The corporation formerly known as the L0pht courts Mark Abene, balks at his hacker past.

The "clean room" stupidity..... 2000-09-02
Mike Roadancer (2 replies)
There is this new bunch of folks (Notice I did not call them hackers) who once were hackers, had ties to the community, and bathed in the community spotlight... till they folded their values for money. The funny thing is that most in this new "clean room" group comitted acts that they were never caught for. But they look down on folks with criminal records. To them I say: YOU SUCK. They are even less trustworthy than the people who take the time down to write out thier criminal history. (Yeppers I have a criminal history too). Good companies who hire folks like us enjoy the benifits, but yes they are hard to find. (Look at the S&P 500, most of us work for those companies) I work for such a company, and if Mark want to come down to the DC area, I'll sure as hell interview him, as I think we would be lucky to get such talent.

It's a shame that the "l0pht" name fell on such discrace. Most of you I know as friends, so from a friend

Wake up and smell the profit, you make more by being HONEST with who you are and not snubbing where you think you came from. Stop being "holier then thou" biggots.

-Mike Roadancer

Another security guy who's got a criminal record.
