there are plenty of white-hat hackers (myself included) who have never illegally entered a computer or defaced a web page or poked their noses where they shouldn't be.

it sounds like an excuse to say 'everybody does it, therefore it"s okay.' no, not everybody does it, and it's certainly not okay.

if i were @stake, i wouldn't hire someone who'd been convicted of a crime, computer-related or not.
