Arbitrary, heavy-handed ISP policies have got to stop. One tool that may put some power in the hands of the end users is encryption: they can't discriminate on different types of traffic if they can't tell it apart because it's encrypted. Users should, as a matter of principle, encrypt as much of their traffic as possible even if it's not sensitive information.
