By all accounts, George Nussbaum demands a lot from his Internet connection. He streams video and transfers large files from his office. His family downloads movie trailers and his stepson listens to and buys music online.

Tiered bandwidth my ass...

When cable services first started, it was clean and uncapped and no one complained. The cable companies were shooting for new customers and let us all have a nice and enjoyable experience.

NOW - that they have their customer base, they are raping us. Implementing caps, and slowing down connections. Saying you can only use your service from this time to that time with this much data. That's BS.

If they are capping our connection, let's say to 1.5Mb/sec like mine is, and they advertise an "always on" connection, then they should assume that I will ALWAYS be using my 1.5M a sec that I am PAYING for!!!

When they cap the system like that, you aren't burdening your neighbors. That's bull hockey. They know it, we know it. If they are worried that they are going to run out of resource, well they're the business selling the product, they sure as hell better make sure they have enough of it to go around. If they can't maybe the government should start to monitor them like they do the phone companies. Make them accountable for their actions.

Kinda like if you read the TOS - they don't guarantee you service at all. If you don't have a connection, their outlook is tough. I've had more than one occasion ATnT and Comcast after their takeover where they screwed up somewhere and I lost my service for a few days. When I call and say I want it fixed and credit for the days missing, I've been told that they don't guarantee a connection according to the TOS and they'll get it when they get it. Needless to say a visit to the local shop instead of the 800 number took care of that real quick...

You don't sell a reem of paper to a customer and then when they start buying a lot of reems of paper say, we're going to make you pay, but this time you can only have half of them. That's bad business and NO ONE would accept that!
