It seems that the do good'ers in their good ideas and their want of good protection don't mind giving up our American Constitutional rights.
They want to do this for good reason.... protection from the world at large. A few terrorist?
Have you ever asked yourself this question?
How far are you willing to go before you change your mind? Will you mindlessly jump off a cliff if the government ask you too? For years this has been the case; People giving up rights supposedly the greater good of the people. Did you ever stop to notice that 1 piece at a time that the government is limiting our lives more and more? Should the masses suffer for the evil few? This is presently happening. A few bad apples are spoiling the entire bunch for all.
In the past Americans have accepted this risk and then ganged up against those few or many in the case of our Declaration of Independence for the greater purpose of our Constitutional rights. In fact we fought a war over this very thing. Why should we that fought the war to get these rights sit back and watch them disappear 1 at a time because of a few terrorist. Yes America can be an unruly civilized place at times but that is just part of what comes with freedom in America. You have to take a little bad for all the benefits we receive. (Why the Fork is everyone wimping out!!!?)
Start taking away freedom and it hurts the entire population for a few bad apples. Take enough of our freedom's away and we no longer have a Democratic Republic. Are you willing to let this happen? Or are you too blind to see it yourself?
If Americans start spying on Americans then over time we will be no worse than the Russians who for years with their secret police beat down their own population. The difference is that they took all the rights away in 1 swoop. The way it is happening to us is 1 small right at a time. Add all those small things taken away and soon you have nothing left!
If you can't see this your blind... Look at taxes; every time they add a new tax or increase a tax does it ever go away? No. It might go down temporarily but then 2 years later increased 2x over what it was before the decrease. Once taxed you get new taxes on top, or an increase in the one you have already they NEVER Go away.....
Taxes were voluntary way way back when; then we had a war and people thought it good to start a tax to support our troops etc. I agree! But what happened!? The tax was left on the books after the war and the constitution was modified and now taxes are no longer voluntary they are mandatory ? or ? jail.
Same thing for our Constitutional rights! Give them up and you never get them back!
And for those out their that think Americans have a small tax rate lol.. NOT think again!
We pay income tax, social security tax, Medicare and Medicade tax. Then we have communications tax we pay on our phone bill. Tax on electricity, tax on gas for heating our homes, tax on gasoline, tax on food, local state sales tax as well as mandated state taxes. Hell money we saved over our lives and pass on to our relatives when we die are taxed AGAIN!
So think again... just as our personal rights are being taken away 1 by 1... Look at what taxes has already done!
Thx and ltr
