A newly-discovered vulnerability in the 802.11 wireless standard allows attackers to jam wireless networks within a radius of one kilometre using off-the-shelf equipment.

Most good security bods know of the risk of DOS in 802.11 - Most will have used Wl*jack, F*jack or Voi* to demonstrate it (one of my mates uses his sons video sender to jam 802.11b in workshops). Despite this, we are still seeing 802.11 impementations in mission (even life) critical situations - with no alternative.

Also, most other attacks will be countered by 802.11i - this may not.
