In a rare wireless hacking conviction, a Michigan man entered a guilty plea Friday in federal court in Charlotte, North Carolina for his role in a scheme to steal credit card numbers from the Lowe's chain of home improvement stores by taking advantage of an unsecured wi-fi network at a store in suburban Detroit.

I can tell you due to this, that I will definately not be shopping at Lowes ever. It's Home Depot for me. ;p
If I were you, I'd let your friends and family know about this, as you don't want them to shop at a store that doesn't care of their customers security do you? It would be a shame to have an incident of fraud happen because some network admin at a HUGE store like Lowes was too lazy to configure WPA, or at the very least WEP.
Only takes five minutes Lowes. Coulda saved you a few customers...
