PR disaster in the making 2000-09-22

I happened to be in the neighborhood, so I picked up my :CueCat at the local Radio Shack where I happened to be. The user manual is scary. The device driver requires you to register (at Digital Convergence, not at Radio Shack) and leave an ungodly amount of personal information. Even scarier is the television hookup: your browser goes where the TV adver^H^H^H^H^Hproducer puts his "background information", leaving mouse droppings at Digital Convergences web site. They promise even greater things to happen in the future.

I think Radio Shack doesn't realize what PR nightmare might be in the making for them.

Anyhow, I'm missing some essential pieces of information for my registration: anyone know the nine digit ZIP code of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington DC?
