Avoiding Identity Theft: A Primer

There is only one problem with asking the credit reporting companies to put a fraud alert on your account. They will only do this for three months then you have to contact them again. This will not change until the government makes them. You can do like me and join a credit protection service and they will make sure your fraud alert is always up to date and help you restore your credit in case a company offers credit to someone using you name and not honoring the fraud alert.
