I'm going to have to agree with a few of the other posts. This seems to be a waste of time. It sounds like someone is trying to make a point, and a positive step in the right direction, but what's the point in trying to pass a law that is completely worthless? Note that I stated a step in the right direction, but let?s put something in action that is going to allow for the tracking and prosecution of these people.

Instead of requiring a separate agreement for these types of software, why don?t we just prohibit the installation of them. Don?t allow program A to install itself and program B, which just happens to send every piece of information it can find on your computer to some moron to sell or use for any number of other reasons. At least require some sort of separate activation for program B. There are a million ways to do this, but lets spend our time on a useful solution.

I like this statement. ?"We are one step closer to restoring safety, confidence and control to consumers when using their own computers," Bono said in a statement.? It just makes you think that this law is going to save the day.
