It is because it is the most common OS used at home.
Most people have no clue how to secure their system. So hackers exploit that.
How often is Apache hacked? Dunno, how often is IIS hacked? Dunnno. Most targets are ignorant home users. They are easy to exploit.
Also for anyone over 30 here. Windows was created because UNIX was a hackers dream.
Now everybody runs windows. So people forget a bout writing long complicated lines of code.
And most of windows exploits are in fact not exploits but developed to improve idiot user use.
