U.S. regulators on Wednesday ruled tentatively in favor of an FBI and Justice Department proposal that would compel Internet broadband and VoIP providers to open their networks up to easy surveillance by law enforcement agencies.

"It is sad when all these people worry about their systems and their networks being "attacked" by hackers,so called computer geeks etc. They then provide this easy access for law enforcement under the ever popular excuse to protect us from terrorism."

What is to stop a really clever Hacker from social engineering his way into an ISP, Cable or Broadband provider by posing as a government official and accessing this same information? Let?s be honest the documentation would not be hard to spoof and your local provider who more than likely would not be able to tell a real court order from a fake one.
