Getting authorization to perform a wiretap or any warrant for that matter has become a complete joke. All that the investigator has to do is go to a 75 year old judge who knows squat about technology and say "that guy is doing something wrong, i just know it!" boom, drive through warrant issued. When a government becomes a criminal to catch a criminal, we are in big trouble. keep in mind these new laws were supposedly designed to aid in the "war on terrorism". The truth is they were just looking for a way to get this thing through congress, and they did it based on the fears of the average American.
