Website offers Caller I.D. falsification service
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2004-08-27

Overdue debtors beware: You may not be able to rely on Caller I.D. to screen out those annoying bill collectors much longer. A California entrepreneur has a plan to bring the hacker technique of Caller I.D. spoofing to the business world, beginning with collection agencies and private investigators.

still wiretapping
This is a bogus interview with a law "professor" who did not make ANY arguments regarding the recording feature of spoofcard. The fact that one of the endpoints is a pstn telephone, is good enough to make it an illegal wiretap. Assuming you haven't told the other party that the call is being recorded. But then again, this is the justice dept. Apparently torture is legal too.
