Absolutely agree with the non-obscurity stance.

Obviously later than expected even government realizes that there is no such thing as absolute security an that technology contributes towards making life even more complex

in relation to keeping an acceptalbe security-level to stay clear of the bad bad rest of the world :-)

It's no secret that information is way harder to protect than any "matter" based wealth production factor - just look at the socalled "financial markets". And meshing information storage like networks do raises the bar of

applying the right measures of protection.

PS: hint - if you fear sattelite misuse, there is a way more interesting and direct threat to "homeland security",just look at the discussions and contributions going on about fully electronic electional voting systems, you are going to laugh your a.. off, well, as long as your are allowed to. :-)
