Shifting cyber threats menace factory floors
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2004-10-07

The factory floor of a modern paper manufacturing plant is a ballet of heavy machinery and razor-sharp blades, pressing, dying, rolling, unrolling and cutting dead tree pulp by the ton. To James Cupps, it's something else, too: a target rich environment for cyber attacks.

Good article, I was wondering when somebody will finally realise this serious security threat. Since several years I encountered several fully computerized door lock and floor control systems, accessible via ethernet.

Just good will nobody got locked up but seriously, this is an issue especially for companies with several security clearance areas. Especially there those systems lack security(what irony).
