I think Ron might be close on this one. Despite Interdepartmental fun and games, there is solid proof that watered down versions of NSA-implemented solutions have filtered down to the FBI and other agencys, too numerous to name. Carnivore is no doubt a scaled down version of an NSA software solution for collection, processing and analyzing electronic intelligence. I can say with some certainty that this powerful "cyber surveillance" tool is probably pointed overseas %85 of the time. but with a 'romper room' version of it in the FBI's hands? thats like giving a handgun to a mental patient. with out a chaperone and a day pass, its not a good idea
