It should also be noted that many credit card company's use CPN(Caller ID) as a '2-factor authentication' mechanism for card activation verification. Supposedly you have to 1) HAVE THE CARD, and 2) CALL FROM HOME. A lot of them don't even ask for any personal information to verify the legitamacy of the caller, knowing the account number and calling from the home phone number is good enouugh to activate the card.
