Telemarketers will not abuse this, I'm tired of seeing the misconception. Telemarketers WERE abusing this in the past using older Caller ID spoofing techniques which prompted legislatures to create a federal law that requires telemarketers to pass a name and number associated with their company that a consumer can call back at any time and request that their number be placed on a do-not-call list.
