The people who call Dell Inc.'s customer service line often have no idea why their computers are running so slow. The ones who call America Online Inc. can't necessarily explain why Internet connections keep dropping. And those who file error reports with Microsoft Corp. don't always know why their computers inexplicably crash.

Microsoft should fix their browser (check Secunia for outstanding issues)
New technology is needed with our configurations to default 'deny' outbound connections. This is problematic though as most people have no clue on how to run a firwall type device or application.
There is a need for an entity to work the issues on the Internet. In other words, take proactive action when issues are found on a site.
I had an incident the other day with a typo. I eneded up at a site that downloaded two trojans via the web browser (IE), but my antivirus caught it. I was lucky that I do pay attention to that.
There are too many cookies and other little tricks out there. Clean them up. Use Firefox and be stingy with cookies.
The Internet used to be fun. Now it is just a dangerous place for the users to be exploited.
