John Leyden, The Register 2004-11-02

Internet Explorer exploits posed the fastest growing web security threat to enterprises in the last quarter, according to web security services firm ScanSafe. The top exploit (Exploit.HTML.Mht) was used to attack twice as many businesses as any other web security threat in Q2 2004.

tantamount
In 2002 and 2003 I was focused on security on my home box and finally learned enough to realize most virus and spyware were gaining access via IE. When I use Mozilla Firebird I get almost no virus or spyware hassle. When I crank up norton antivrus I seem to immediately draw fire as if I painted a target upon myself. Many people seem to have problems with the microsoft corporate marketing philosophy such as not being able to instal xp on other computers in there own home after paying $200
