I remember seeing a couple of ATM's in the UK with a Windows error message showing. I thought Why would anybody in their right mind base an ATM on Windows?! So stupid.

Surely they could have chosen another embedded OS that isn't so bug ridden? Don't get me wrong I'm not an MS basher, I've been extolling the virtues since NT3.51 but horses for courses and all that. OS/2 was great (if a little heavy on resources) for this application as it was mature and proven. There's going to be an ATM disaster I can feel it. I mean, would you board a plane if you knew the flight computer was based on Windows? I'd rather bike it.
