Defendant: Microsoft source code sale was a setup
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2004-11-11

A 27-year-old Connecticut man facing felony economic espionage charges for allegedly selling a copy of Microsoft's leaked source code for $20 says he's being singled out only because the software giant and law enforcement officials can't find the people who stole the code in the first place.

The Real Question is here... 2004-11-13

The Real question is in this article. Willy is accussed of selling trade secrets, but was the source code REALLY a trade secret in anyone who REALLY wanted it could have gone and downloaded it from any p2p network. I personally recall back in feb, and I can atest that anyone who wanted a link to that code certainly could have had one. I personally recall "everyone" have some way to get it.

A BIG thank you to Kevin for what is more then likely the most "open" and consise article on the net to date.
