DirecTV dragnet snares innocent techies

In recent months the satellite TV giant has filed nearly 9,000 federal lawsuits against people who've purchased signal piracy devices. But some of those devices have legitimate uses, and innocent computer geeks are getting caught in the crackdown.

Most here seem to be missing the issue upon which DTV stands. The piracy act states that simply owning such devices to enable piracy is illegal. Some of said devices are part of an ISO standard (7816). I do understand how they assume guilt if you in fact own a device to enable piracy of their signal...
