SACRAMENTO, Calif.--A federal judge ordered Adrian Lamo released to his parents' custody Tuesday afternoon, but barred the hacker from using computers, and ordered him to obtain full-time employment pending trial.

You hit the nail right on the head! The goverment planned the timing and you are correct, they want to make sure that Lamo has no friends at his trial.

50 bucks says they are going to offer to drop the second charge in order for a guilty plea on the first. Most of the time the feds will add one...
