Ashcroft wins Internet wiretap system

U.S. regulators on Wednesday ruled tentatively in favor of an FBI and Justice Department proposal that would compel Internet broadband and VoIP providers to open their networks up to easy surveillance by law enforcement agencies.

Your point about the hackers compromising the system has merits, but I also think, terrorism or not law enforcement should have access to VoIp calls as they would regular ones. On the other hand the FCC ruling gave a rather blank check to Ashcroft, which I believe for one is not the correct way to ...
