From a White House given to dramatic warnings of electronic Pearl Harbors comes an incongruously meek national strategy. Did industry lobbyists slip someone a Mickey?

Good observations. I came away with the same impression. At least you would have thought it would hold vendors accountable to produce secure software. That would be a great first step.

And with all the standards and practices in place, I would have thought that there would have been a strategy to pull them all together and make some sense out of them. If all organizations would be held as accountable as healthcare under HIPAA or financial under GLB, that would be another milestone.

Not much here - not even adherence to existing standards.
