Shredding the Paper Tiger of Cyberterrorism
Richard Forno, 2002-09-25

Political posturing about cyberterrorism is a red herring that takes attention away from the real issues of information security.

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that there are less reputable security companies who throw around the word "cyberterrorism" in hopes of getting some of that homeland security cash that's floating about. In short, there's some less reputable people who have a cash motive to talk up "cyberterrorism" and downplay normal security concerns. What I usually say when I see sensationalist stories is "Follow the money" -- who benefits from the hub-bub about things like cyberterrorism?
