I am consistently amazed at how dated some of your windows security knowledge is - you try Windows95 or NT, and say "it sucks, its insecure" and stick with that point of view for years to come. I run both, Linux and Windows, I have been in the industry for many years, and unlike some Linux people that are stuck in the past, I keep up with Windows security developments. You Linux people are so religious is kills me, no matter what security improvements windows makes to its operating system, you will always be right in the front-line to say put it down, of course, due to a complete lack of understanding and knowledge of the operating system.
If you would like my opinion on Linux (and I run both, remember, I make my judgments based on facts); I think Linux is archaic, and is a step backwards for computing. It's simplicity is its downfall, learning it is a joke - sorry, but if I am to call myself an IT professional, I would like to to mean that I actually need expertise to run whatever I specialize in. If it were not for windows coming along, personal computing would not be where it's at now. Seems to me like a lot of Linux people out there are scared of Windows, perhaps because they know nothing about it? Oh, besides how to change your background on the desktop.
Quote: "That is because the real security in Linux, Windows, or Solaris lies in how well you know how to secure them." - exactly. Linux fanatics - go read a book on windows security enhancements in Windows2000, active directory. Set up W2k server, anything that cannot be accomplished through domain and user policies can be done through the registry. Stop whining about something you know nothing about.
