Tim Mullen, 2002-12-02

Microsoft's security policies are getting better every day, even as a new report slams open-source competitors as security nightmares. But the easy answers aren't always the right ones.

"I think a lot of you Linux people on the "windows sucks" bandwagon should wake up and take a look at the security improvements of windows 2000 enterprise server..." History teaches us that while every release of Windows is incredibly more stable and/or secure than the last, it's never been a production quality operating system. Sure a lot of Unix geeks are out of date, Microsoft doesn't offer anything of value to them so they ignore it. Microsoft has never been an inovator anyway, so who cares about Windows 2000 Zippty Doo Dah Server. Repeat after me: "It's just marketing hype."
