Does Research Support Dumping Linux?
Tim Mullen, 2002-12-02

Microsoft's security policies are getting better every day, even as a new report slams open-source competitors as security nightmares. But the easy answers aren't always the right ones.

"Microsoft doesn't offer anything of value to them so they ignore it." - No. The problem is they have no idea what it offers. They don't give it a chance. Anything that can be done in Linux can be done in Windows, if you can, I would like you to prove otherwise.

Atualy you are right, Windows don't ofer me anything I can't already do with linux, AD? well, ldap seems to work for me or NIS on a linux only network

IIS, well apaches been out there for a long time, don't even fall victom to the nimda or codered virus that we have heard about a while ago.

hey what about asp and coldfusion. Well what about php and mysql? Oricle? postgres.

So what have I proved, ok, I know linux so what, let's get over these holy wars. I can secure linux better than Windows. Many others reading this post van secure windows beter than linux. Many others can spell beter than me :)
all OS'es other than mabe the old macs and openBSD come out of the box insecure. Anyone that uses them to admin a system with thier default settings should be tared, featherd, hanged by thier toe nails and just plain fired. OK, enough ranting. I'm sure someone has a good flame to send my way :)
