The Briscoe Syndrome
Mark Rasch, 2002-12-30

Fear of terrorism and a desire to cooperate with law enforcement has led many corporate insiders to pony up sensitive information on their customers to anyone with a badge... with no court order required.

It seems as Osana Bin Laden is winning after all.
His comments that the Unitd States had too much liberty and freedom is being taken to heart and we are reducing our liberty as fast as Bin Laden wanted.
A country without privacy has no liberty. The PATRIOT Act and this willingness to willy-nilly give out information has done more to reduce our freedom than the September 11 attacks ever could. The 9/11 bombers only destroyed buildings and killed people. The congressional bunch is destroying the very fabric that created a strong free USA and it will take a lot longer to rebuild that than the World Trade towers.
