Red Hat and Mandrake are cutting support for older versions of their Linux distributions... The results will be a security nightmare for the Internet.

First of all, I am NOT RH user. Of course, I began with MDK, then RH, but, still unsatisfied, finally migrated to Debian. There is one thing I believe you are missing: no company is a charity fund! If they think supporting older releases is not good, not profitable, it's just it. We cannot FORCE them to make upgrades if they do not want to, and saying that they are ugly, bad, etc, is not in place - it is a matter of making money for living. The only thing we can do is to stop using their products, switch to some less-commercial distros (Debian is my personal favourite).

Regards,

Marcin
