What kind of tripe are you trying to spread here? You apparently have no idea of the reality of working in a large corporation. Just where exactly did you hear that the security people get to decide what operating systems will be used?
That decision is made by the architecture people, and that doesn't include the security people.
Oh, and the paragraph on code red having taken place so long ago and not being an excuse anymore. What was that all about. Sounded like a few lines of smoke and mirrors. Man, your writing has gone down hill.
You know, I'm starting to think that the mononpolization of security sites by the larger companies is going in the wrong direction. This used to be a good site that didn't hold anything back. It seems to be slipping into a mouthpiece for inferior software producing companies.
