If you really think that service packs break more than they fix, then you don't know what you are doing. I have had FAR more issues rebuilding my kernel on Linux with driver incompatability (if they have the damn driver at all) than any issues on our production boxes of Windows.
This is a typical ploy for lazy, stupid administrators to use- blame it all on MS or say "I don't trust the patch" or whatever else they have to do in order to sit around and pretend that they know what they are doing. Learn how to do your job and keep the MS bashing to yourself.
