I know I don't need M$ or any company managing my rights, be they digital or otherwise. It is too bad that right now the climate is such that this sort of philosophy is becoming acceptable. It is too hard to reclaim rights that become insidiously removed under the guise of security or patriotism or any other banner. I made my decision 6-7 years ago when I switched to Linux, and I am just a dumb blue-collar contractor and home user. However, I am an *independent* dumb blue-collar contractor home user, and therein lies the difference. If I don't feel something is right, I can say "byte me". I may suffer the consequences, but my independence remains intact. I can live with that. So those of you who work in this field remember this: This country wasn't founded on corporate greed, it was built by individuals who possesed the inner strength to follow what they knew was right.
